Momo
The wine bar is located in historical building. It was a hospital at first: in 19th century, then used as a storehouse after the revolution. Nowadays the building is owned by development company whose owner is passionate about natural wine.
The classic building was almost abandoned, no interior was left only walls. The idea was not to restore it according to tradition but to give an old proportions a new life. Original brick wall left untouched. The main attraction is 9 meters in diameter dome with hand maid mural of a fantasy night sky with a few alchemy symbols. There are three deferent spaces inside the bar. The main room with a counter and wine wall in the middle, the upper floor with a view downstairs, night sky above and boomerang shaped table, and a more private room with round leather sofas and fireplace.
Client wanted to create modem and fashionable design suitable for izakaya concept. The name Ovo gives an egg association to interior. Walls are made with plaster and imitates an egg shell texture. They embrace the space like a soft curtains while the ceiling and floor left grey concrete. Wide U shaped sofas stand for more comfort.
